Vikas Kuriachan

Biography

Dr. Vikas Kuriachan joined the Cardiology / Cardiac Electrophysiology group at the Libin Cardiovascular Institute, University of Calgary, and Alberta Health Services in July 2010 after completing a year of complex ablation and extraction training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital / Harvard Medical School.   He is currently the Interim Calgary Zone Clinical Department Head for Cardiac Sciences.  His Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology training were in Calgary and Internal Medicine at University of British Columbia. His clinical and research interests include complex ablation, integrative arrhythmia care, and new electrophysiology technologies, along with physician wellness and burnout.  He was Calgary Avenue Magazine’s Top 40 under 40 in 2013.   He has played key roles in bringing epicardial ablation, percutaneous left atrial occlusion, leadless devices, and stereotactic arrhythmia radioablation to Calgary.
